Preparations to receive Rumsey&#8217;s collection <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stanforddaily.com\/2014\/07\/20\/green-library-to-house-david-rumsey-map-collection\/\">began last summer<\/a>. Now the David Rumsey Map Center is set to open\u2014an event that will be marked with <a href=\"http:\/\/hosted-p0.vresp.com\/260487\/d66098b51b\/ARCHIVE\">a reception on 19 April<\/a>, the opening of an exhibition called\u00a0<em>A Universe of Maps: Opening the David Rumsey Map Center<\/em>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/events.stanford.edu\/events\/587\/58753\/\">a series of presentations and workshops<\/a>\u00a0over the following two days.
