It did not occur to me that that radiation was not evenly distributed. In preparation for future missions to Europa, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41550-018-0499-8\">a new study<\/a>, using Galileo and Voyager data, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpl.nasa.gov\/news\/news.php?feature=7191\">tries to map where the radiation is most intense on the Europan surface<\/a>, as well as how far that radiation penetrates beneath the surface.
