It&#8217;s out this week from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.press.uchicago.edu\/ucp\/books\/book\/chicago\/W\/bo29614443.html\">University of Chicago Press<\/a>. It&#8217;s very much up my alley, relevant to my interests, et cetera, and I&#8217;m looking forward to reviewing it, though the to-be-reviewed pile it&#8217;s sitting on top of is getting very large.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, another book excerpt has been reprinted online: <em>Literary Hub<\/em> has Lev Grossman&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/lithub.com\/lev-grossman-why-weve-always-needed-fantastic-maps\/\">wide-ranging piece on fantasy maps<\/a>. It joins the essays by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/books\/page-turner\/start-with-the-map\">David Mitchell<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2018\/sep\/22\/wizards-moomins-and-gold-the-magic-and-mysteries-of-maps\">Frances Hardinge, Robert Macfarlane and Miraphora Mina<\/a> we&#8217;ve seen before. The book isn&#8217;t all text, though: as you might expect, there are rather a lot of maps in it.
