Built by the WPA, the model was assembled from 158 individual pieces to form a massive, 42&times;38-foot (12.8&times;11.6m) model at a scale of 1:1,200, and represented a snapshot of the city as it was in 1940. It&#8217;s available as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidrumsey.com\/luna\/servlet\/detail\/RUMSEY~8~1~313399~90082563:Composite--San-Francisco-Model;JSESSIONID=a367367f-b343-4b2e-9717-9dd9c3a738ee?qvq=q%3A10261.000%3Bsort%3APub_List_No_InitialSort%2CPub_Date%2CPub_List_No%2CSeries_No%3Blc%3ARUMSEY%7E8%7E1&amp;sort=Pub_List_No_InitialSort%2CPub_Date%2CPub_List_No%2CSeries_No&amp;mi=0&amp;trs=160&amp;cic=RUMSEY%7E8%7E1#\">a single composite image<\/a>, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidrumsey.com\/luna\/servlet\/view\/search?q=10261.000&amp;search=SUBMIT&amp;QuickSearchA=QuickSearchA&amp;sort=Pub_List_No_InitialSort%2CPub_Date%2CPub_List_No%2CSeries_No&amp;pgs=250&amp;res=1&amp;cic=RUMSEY%7E8%7E1\">images of individual pieces<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/rumsey\/SFmodel\/San+Francisco+Model+1940.kmz\">a Google Earth layer<\/a> enables the model to be viewed at an oblique angle and superimposed on modern satellite imagery. Sections of the model itself will be on display at various branches of the San Francisco Public Library as part of Bik Van der Pol&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/publicknowledge.sfmoma.org\/take-part\/\"><em>Take Part<\/em><\/a> project; the exhibits will take place between 25 January and 25 March 2019.
