The map is \u201ca seamless, globally consistent, 1:5,000,000-scale geologic map\u201d; <a href=\"http:\/\/astropedia.astrogeology.usgs.gov\/download\/Moon\/Geology\/thumbs\/Unified_Geologic_Map_of_The_Moon_200dpi.jpg\">the paper version<\/a> (25 MB JPEG) provides azimuthal projections beyond the 55th parallels and an equirectangular projection between the 57th parallels.
