However, information including bearings and general location are still available.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theinformation.com\/articles\/facing-hostile-chinese-authorities-apple-ceo-signed-275-billion-deal-with-them\">a report in <em>The Information<\/em><\/a> (paywall) that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theinformation.com\/articles\/facing-hostile-chinese-authorities-apple-ceo-signed-275-billion-deal-with-them\">summarized by John Gruber<\/a>, back in 2014 or 2015 the Chinese State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping required Apple Maps to make the disputed <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Senkaku_Islands\">Diaoyu (Senkaku) Islands<\/a> appear large even when zoomed out, and made the Apple Watch\u2019s Chinese release contingent on that request\u2014to which Apple acquiesced.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apple\u2019s new maps have come to Australia [9to5Mac, MacRumors].
