Cameron Booth, for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/transitmap.net\/new-project-new-york-subway-map-in-the-style-of-the-london-underground-map\/\">has redone New York\u2019s subway map in that style<\/a>. But a map posted by a graphic designer named Sean to Reddit does the exact opposite: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/nycrail\/comments\/uazady\/london_tube_network_in_the_style_of_the_nyc\/\">it reimagines the London Underground map in the style of New York\u2019s subway map<\/a>. Bringing the design language of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maproomblog.com\/2020\/02\/michael-hertz-1932-2020-father-of-the-new-york-metro-map\/\">Michael Hertz<\/a> to Harry Beck\u2019s sovereign territory is probably blasphemous in some quarters, but as a pastiche of the New York style? <a href=\"https:\/\/transitmap.net\/new-project-new-york-subway-map-in-the-style-of-the-london-underground-map\/\">Cameron says<\/a>: \u201cSean has absolutely <em>nailed<\/em> the New York Subway map style, and perhaps even improved upon it in places\u2014I note with pleasure that all of his station labels are set horizontally, instead of the many varied angles used on the official NYC map.\u201d His bottom line? \u201cOne of the best style mash-ups I\u2019ve seen: technically excellent, well-researched and actually really informative.
