It incorporates the new <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Elizabeth_line\">Elizabeth line<\/a>\u2014as well as IKEA logos indicating which stations are near their stores (IKEA paid \u00a3800,000 to sponsor the map). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/news\/london\/elizabeth-line-tube-map-redrawn-london-tfl-b1003455.html\">The <em>Evening Standard<\/em> talks with Transport for London chief designer Jon Hunter about the new design<\/a>, which apparently took 18 months.<\/p>\n<p>To say the least there\u2019s been a bit of pushback from certain map design circles: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/newsletters\/2022-06-01\/maplab-is-it-time-for-an-overhaul-of-the-london-tube-map\">yesterday\u2019s <em>MapLab<\/em> has a good summary of the criticism<\/a>. The map has been called out for being increasingly complicated in recent years, and this redesign doesn\u2019t help. The interchanges in particular seem to be singled out as examples of egregiously poor design: see <a href=\"https:\/\/diamondgeezer.blogspot.com\/2022\/05\/the-purple-tube-map.html\">Diamond Geezer<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/transitmap\/status\/1532077543066435584\">Cameron Booth<\/a>.
