The map updates as you move the pointer across it, which is a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p>The isochrones are generated from data from the <a href=\"https:\/\/direkt.bahn.guru\/\">direct.bahn.guru<\/a> site, a site that is worth looking at in and of itself: it shows <em>all<\/em> the direct connections from a given station, i.e., everywhere you can get to on a single train. That site, in turn, gets its data from the Deutsche Bahn <a href=\"https:\/\/gist.github.com\/juliuste\/f9776a6b7925bc6cc2d52225dd83336e\">via a legacy API<\/a> that is necessarily incomplete and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/_benjamintd\/status\/1552983342718615558\">only covers destinations reachable from Germany<\/a>. But there are no complete datasets of European transport routes, so this\u2019ll do.
