But it\u2019s very much a thing, and has been for some time: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsonstamps.org\">CartoPhilatelic Society<\/a> has been around since 1955. And there are a <em>lot<\/em> of examples of stamps with maps on them: the Society\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsonstamps.org\/checklist\/\">checklist<\/a> has 41,300 entries, and there are 17,906 examples on the searchable database that is <a href=\"https:\/\/mapsonstampsdb.com\">Gilad\u2019s Maps on Stamps<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/bigthink.com\/strange-maps\/maps-on-stamps\/\"><em>Strange Maps<\/em> gives the subject a proper writeup<\/a>, grouping stamps by several themes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Except for a couple of posts here and there, I really haven\u2019t focused on the phenomenon of maps on postage stamps.
