That means some cities on the edge of the route that were expecting to experience a second or two of total darkness might be left out.\u201d The calculations were done by John Irwin, whose revised map can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.besselianelements.com\/path-of-the-2024-april-8th-total-solar-eclipse\/\">here<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.besselianelements.com\/technical-details-of-the-true-limb-eclipse-path-determination\/\">This page<\/a> has the technical details, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jamiecartereurope\/2024\/03\/31\/15-places-in-the-us-that-just-lost-their-total-solar-eclipse---while-texas-gained\/?sh=77b2ddd13f66\">Jamie Carter explains the implications<\/a>: if Irwin\u2019s correct, we\u2019re talking about a literal edge case of a few hundred metres.
