Writer and director Andy Burden <a href=\"https:\/\/londonist.com\/london\/transport\/the-truth-about-harry-beck-play\">spent years working on the play<\/a>. So far reviews have been mostly positive: <a href=\"https:\/\/theatrevibe.co.uk\/2024\/09\/20\/review-the-truth-about-harry-beck-transport-museum-theatre-2024\/\"><em>Theatre Vibe<\/em>\u2019s Lizzie Loveridge<\/a> found it \u201ccharming,\u201d <em><a href=\"https:\/\/everything-theatre.co.uk\/2024\/09\/review-the-truth-about-harry-beck-cubic-theatre\/\">Everything Theatre<\/a><\/em> \u201cwarm,\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/westend\/article\/Review-THE-TRUTH-ABOUT-HARRY-BECK-at-The-Cubic-Theatre-London-Transport-Museum-20240919\"><em>Broadway World<\/em> calls it<\/a> \u201cas reassuring as a comfy pair of slippers,\u201d whereas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theartsdesk.com\/theatre\/truth-about-harry-beck-london-transport-museum-cubic-theatre-review-mapping-life-london\"><em>The Arts Desk<\/em>\u2019s take is more mixed<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/culture\/theatre\/the-truth-about-harry-beck-cubic-theatre-london-transport-museum-review-b1182886.html\"><em>The Standard<\/em> dismisses it<\/a> as \u201cchock-full of mugging, direct address and chuntering dimwittery.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cqjr05jpln2o\">BBC News coverage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not coincidentally, it\u2019s the 50th anniversary of Beck\u2019s death. London map dealer The Map House has an exhibition to mark the anniversary: <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themaphouse.com\/exhibitions\/57-mapping-the-tube-1863-2023\/\">Mapping the Tube: 1863-2023<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. They\u2019re a map dealer so the displays are for sale, including a draft copy of the map and one of only five remaining first-edition Tube map posters.
