It is the usual collection of marvellous cartography from familiar and unfamiliar mapmakers, some of which quite unexpected, and I hope to have more to say about it shortly. It made its debut at the NACIS annual meeting in October and is available to purchase from <a href=\"https:\/\/atlasofdesign.bigcartel.com\/product\/atlas-of-design-volume-7\">this page<\/a>. See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maproomblog.com\/2023\/05\/atlas-of-design\/\">my review of the sixth volume<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matthew Edney\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mappingasprocess.net\/blog\/2024\/12\/19\/2024-books-in-map-history-plus-some-i-missed-from-2023\">list of map history books published or seen in 2024<\/a> is now live; he\u2019s been posting such a list each year since 2017 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maproomblog.com\/2024\/01\/map-history-books-of-2023\/\">previously<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>40 Maps, 47 Borders, 50 Transit Maps<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Alaistair Bonnett\u2019s latest, <em><strong>40 Maps That Will Change How You See the World<\/strong><\/em> came out in September from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quarto.com\/books\/9780711293533\/40-maps-that-will-change-how-you-see-the-world\">Ivy Press<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/geographical.co.uk\/news\/the-importance-of-maps-with-alastair-bonnett\"><em>Geographical<\/em> magazine published an interview with him<\/a> in October.
