Above is what I see in Canada; I wonder what Apple is showing Mexican users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Axios, citing its mainly U.S. audience, is adopting \u201cGulf of America\u201d (<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/axios-caves-to-trump-will-refer-to-gulf-of-mexico-as-gulf-of-america_n_67b0ce9ee4b0c06e58fc7c35?ncid=APPLENEWS00001\">HuffPost<\/a><\/em>, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/media\/5147756-axios-to-use-gulf-of-america-in-compliance-with-trump\/\">The Hill<\/a><\/em>, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/axios-gulf-of-america-mexico-name-trump-associated-press-ap\/\">The Wrap<\/a><\/em>) but had this to say about the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maproomblog.com\/2025\/02\/is-gulf-of-mexico-worth-fighting-for\/\">blacklisting the Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cAt the same time, the government should never dictate how any news organization makes editorial decisions. The AP and all news organizations should be free to report as they see fit. This is a bedrock of a free press and durable democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Resistance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The name change is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maproomblog.com\/2025\/02\/gulf-of-america-isnt-going-over-well\/\">broadly unpopular<\/a> and people are finding ways to resist it. If \u201cGulf of America\u201d becomes a way to signal compliance with the regime, it looks like \u201cGulf of Mexico,\u201d even on a t-shirt (which I\u2019ve seen already), will signal noncompliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bryce Bostwick has released <a href=\"https:\/\/fixthegulf.com\">a Chrome extension that restores \u201cGulf of Mexico\u201d to Google Maps<\/a>. As he says, \u201cThere are a lot of scary executive orders being issued right now. This is not one of the most important ones. But it might be the easiest to defy.\u201d This apparently took some reverse engineering, as he explains in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=F5m2JxplnXk\">a 24-minute video<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MapQuest\u2014remember MapQuest?\u2014has not as yet complied with the Trump executive order;
