But starting next March <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/montreal\/quebec-flood-maps-1.7560044\">Quebec\u2019s flood maps will adopt a new framework categorizing flood zones by risk<\/a> (low, moderate, high, very high), with a special category for areas located near dams or flood protection structures. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quebec.ca\/agriculture-environnement-et-ressources-naturelles\/eau\/zones-inondables-mobilite-rives-littoral\/cartographies\/en-vigueur\/interpretation\">This page<\/a> (in French) explains how the new maps\u2014which aren\u2019t yet available\u2014will work.
