[<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Meekroadventure\/status\/782310232106106881\">The Meek Family<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/autos\/story\/20161007-why-paper-road-maps-wont-die\">BBC Autos looks<\/a> at something that ought to be obsolete in the age of onboard navigation and mobile phones:\u00a0the AAA&#8217;s TripTik. &#8220;And yet? July 2016 was the most popular TripTik month in AAA\u2019s history, issuing 2 million TripTiks to members in a single month.&#8221; Go figure. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/oshermaps\/posts\/1255618504490355\">Osher<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-37613934\">The BBC also has a short video<\/a> on mapmaker <a href=\"https:\/\/imusgeographics.com\">Dave Imus<\/a>, who describes himself as a &#8220;geographic illustrator&#8221; and describes mapmaking as an art rather than a science. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/100509989851\/permalink\/10155581713634852\/\">WMS<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p>I hadn&#8217;t\u00a0know about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wunnenbergs.com\">Wunnenberg&#8217;s street guides<\/a>, because I&#8217;m not from\u00a0St. Louis, but I&#8217;ve seen other products of the sort: locally produced, hyper-detailed maps of a specific area. (Think the A-Z Maps and London, or <a href=\"http:\/\/sherlockmaps.com\/Winnipeg\/default.html\">Sherlock Maps<\/a> and Winnipeg.) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/business\/local\/st-louis-mapmakers-stay-the-course-in-an-age-of\/article_87f4699d-f36b-56fc-99a7-fb91afd5b072.html\">The\u00a0<em>St. Louis Post-Dispatch<\/em> has a look at Wunnenberg&#8217;s<\/a> in the context of GPS, mobile phones and declining paper map sales.
