And the indigenous communities pointed out that the islands were mountains before the reservoir was flooded in the early 1980s, and those mountains had indigenous names. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atlasobscura.com\/articles\/caniapiscau-reservoir-island-names\">See\u00a0<em>Atlas Obscura<\/em> for the full story<\/a>.
