{"id":504304,"date":"2017-12-19T09:15:30","date_gmt":"2017-12-19T14:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.maproomblog.com\/?p=504304"},"modified":"2017-12-19T09:15:30","modified_gmt":"2017-12-19T14:15:30","slug":"embedded-videos-and-email-subscriptions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.maproomblog.com\/2017\/12\/embedded-videos-and-email-subscriptions\/","title":{"rendered":"Embedded Videos and Email Subscriptions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A reader just brought to my attention an issue that will probably be familiar to the four hundred or so of you who subscribe to <strong>The Map Room<\/strong>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/feedburner.google.com\/fb\/a\/mailverify?uri=maproom&amp;loc=en_US\">daily email digest<\/a>: embedded videos (such as YouTube) included in blog posts don&#8217;t work in email clients, and in fact can bork the formatting of the email. A little digging on my part revealed that <a href=\"https:\/\/groups.google.com\/forum\/#!searchin\/feedburner\/youtube\/publicity-tools\/1mQibqc0APY\/p6QtVCey604J\">this is a longstanding issue<\/a>: email clients don&#8217;t generally display scripted or embedded elements.
